Recently, you may have noticed a new addition to the weblogs called Artpologist.net. This blog documents the life of an art project that I’ve started working on with several artists and an anthropologist from Kazakhstan.
The project focuses on the studios and personal spaces of artists amidst the dramatic building boom influencing the daily lives of the people of Almaty.
The project will result in an art show/exhibit on the subject in August that will include video, film, drawings, paintings, and photos. This multi-media exhibit will have local artists, foreign artists and an anthropologist.
Feel free to browse the site and make comments. There are many photos, videos, sounds, and blogs already posted.
