Adam Kesher today in his blog quotes the newly released Forbes’ list of the billionaires you never heard of - the most wealthy people that are closed for public eyes. Interestingly, there is a Kazakhstani citizen listed there - Vladimir Kim, a copper magnate, principal owner and president of UK-incorporated Kazakhmys Plc., which controls the whole sector in the Kazakhstani economy. Prior to becoming a corporate management guru, Mr. Kim used to work as a mid-level Soviet communist party official.
Vladimir Kim’s worth a cool $5.5 billion, making him the richest person in the post-Soviet republics outside of Russia, a lot wealthier than Silicon Valley billionaires, and the richest ethnic Korean on the planet, with a fortune that far surpasses even that of Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-Hee, the journal says.
