The First Festival of short films, shot by cameras installed in the cellphones, “Mobile Look” was held in Almaty January 26. It was organized by the creative group KANAIDAR with the purpose to make cinematographe a more accessible art to everyone.

“You have a mobile phone. Your mobile phone has a camera. You want to express your attitude to this world. We want to help you. Everybody can participate”, the press release has read.

As a result, 80 applications from under-16 and over-40 were received, 41 of them selected for the show in three nominations: “kids”, ”fiction” and “documentary”. The organizers plan to conduct this festival annually, like such kind of events are taking place in China, Russia, Belarus, France, USA - and everywhere they gather big audience.
